our story

roon was born from the idea of extravagance without rules: a chance to enjoy fine cuisine in a place like home.

the menu is a revolving door inspired by the city in which we reside, showcasing flavors from the myriad of cultures that decorate los angeles. we source the finest, seasonal fare and focus on highlighting ingredients at their peak.

hosted by leah with food by chef ben stephens, the 8 seat fine dining party is our expression of what we wish to bring to the dining culture in LA. with a combined 25 years of experience in hospitality, we have spent our lives perfecting that idea.

for over a decade, chef ben has worked in some of the finest kitchens in california. upon graduating from the culinary institute of america, ben began his career with the famed patina restaurant group in los angeles, working his way up to michelin starred restaurants la folie and acquerello in san francisco.

leah’s passion for entertaining has been life long: from humble beginnings working in restaurants as a teenager, to cutting her teeth at the-french-laundry-alum tim hollingsworth’s otium in los angeles, she brings her keen level of service and detail to roon.
